Homegrown Sprouts

Sprouts are easy to grow at home and are a fantastic way to introduce fresh greens into your daily diet. In just a few steps and a couple minutes a day, you’ll enjoy delicious sprouts in under a week!

Supplies:

  1. Sprouting Seeds (broccoli, cabbage, alfalfa and mung beans are our favorite!)

  2. Wide Mouth Mason Jar

  3. Sprouting Lid (cheesecloth and a rubber band works well too)

Steps:

  1. Soak 2 tablespoons of seeds in a 32oz mason jar with cool, filtered water.

  2. Cover jar with a drainable lid and soak for 8-12 hours.

  3. After soaking, drain water through the mesh lid. Rinse with fresh water and drain again. Place jar upside down at an angle away from direct sunlight.

  4. Rinse and drain seeds with fresh water twice a day until sprouts grow to maturity.

  5. To store place sprouts in the fridge with the same mesh lid to prevent spoiling Use within a week on soups, salads, sandwiches or as a side. Enjoy!
